Planning
a baby shower should not be difficult if you are quite innovative
with the different parts of the planning. Your baby shower schedule,
decorations, games, and party prizes must be filled with new and
exciting innovations.
Invitations
are the true reflection of the spirit and theme of the baby shower
party. Timing is very important here; make sure you send out these
invitations at least 4 weeks in advance for in-town guests and at
least 6 months in advance for out-of-town guests. You can make use of
the following tips to create great baby shower invitations;
•The
little diaper invites; use pink and blue constriction papers for
this, cut them out in triangles and write on one side, fold them like
a diaper and fasten them with diaper pins.
• The
building blocks invite. Use 3 different colours of construction
papers for this, cut out 3 squares, draw and label “1” , “2”,
and “3” on one side of the paper, and then overlap the numbers
slightly using a glue to fasten the overlaps , write the invitation
at the back and include a baby charm in each.
*Schedule
When
you are planning a baby shower, you need to consider timing. A
typical baby shower party should last about 2 hours. You can make use
of the following baby shower planning schedule;
• Each
guest must introduce him or herself and give brief details of how
they got to know the mother-to-be
• The
whole shows should contain between 2-4 baby shower games, play a game
at the beginning to create a nice party starter.
• Allow
the guests to serve themselves at the buffet or simply serve them
• Have
the mother-to-be to unwrap her gift and party favours should be
handed to the guests as they leave.
*Decorations
A
theme for tableware pattern is often the best theme for decorating a
baby shower party, the reason for this is that it is easier to match
center-pieces, paper cut-outs and banners and other components.
• Let
the centerpiece contain a basket containing stuffed baby items, and a
balloon Bouquet should be attached to it.
• Let
the guest wrap packages of diapers inside solid colour wraps, and use
a contrasting colour to draw large letters on each side. These diaper
building blocks should be placed at the corner of the room.
• Mix
pink and blue balloon around the baby shower party room, tie some of
these balloons at the back of the seats, you can use stuffed baby
toys to weigh down the balloons.
